I'm a doula, mama, and advocate who is passionate about supporting birthing persons to help them have a positive, empowering birth. Doulas are professional labor companions who provide emotional, physical, and informational support. As a new parent myself, I know the value of continuous, compassionate labor support and the importance of having someone by your side who believes in your ability to birth your baby. Birth is a transformative experience you will remember for the rest of your life, and my goal is to protect the memory of your birth. I look forward to connecting with you and learning how I can best serve and support you during your pregnancy and birth!

Talethia Edwards

I’m a mother of seven natural children and two god given babies because She was interested in birth work as she journeyed though her own seven pregnancies' and seven unmedicated births. Talethia experienced first hand the void of labor support as she learned how to advocate for herself to protect her labor and deliver the way her body was designed to do. Talethia has assisted in over a dozen births outside of her own and finds pure joy when she is assisting a family in having the birth experience they wish for.

I knew birth work was what she was called to so she started her own business. The Flower Pot Doula and Vaginal Steaming where Talethia provides conception, pregnancy, and postpartum doula service. Being a black woman and understanding culturally that sex and sexuality was stigmatized and taboo among women and communities of color, Talethia wanted to destigmatize the uterus and conversation of self care and added Yoni steam practitioner to her tool bag. Passionate about overall women's health and birth work, The Flower pot also offers birth preparation, child-birth and breastfeeding education.

Her goal in creating the Flower Pot is to join the conversation with other women to address and decrease the significant elevated deaths of black women during pregnancy and childbirth. Talethia wanted to bring attention and education around the black maternal health crisis and the poor maternal health outcomes. By elevating the conversation around community driven policy, programs and care in turn should look like wellness and self advocacy, education as well as overall advocacy of mothers though raised awareness, open chats and forums.
